Graham Colton - here right now

就是这张去年发行的here right now.
开头的telescope .you find a way 就让人进入状态啦..
Having spent considerable time on the road supporting the likes of John Mayer, Maroon 5, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, and Kelly Clarkson (with whom he had a brief romantic fling), blue-eyed Oklahoman singer-songwriter Graham Colton has learned to hone his brand of bittersweet, coffeehouse-friendly rock from the best. Colton's second major label release, Here Right Now , deftly balances simple introspective sentiments with huge, unapologetically mainstream tunes, suggesting anything less than total radio/television/MySpace domination would be a letdown. Most the songs find him tunefully coming to grips with a broken heart, but "You Find a Way" seems like the prime contender of the set, built around searing guitars, hyperactive rhythms, and a merciless chorus: "But you find a way/To keep me hanging on/You find a way/To make everything go wrong." His education is about to pay off big-time

the feeling - join with us

还算ok..and forgettable.
Product Description
2008 release, the sophomore album by the poptastic Sussex based group. Picking up where their debut album left off, the band take their blend of '70s influenced Soft Rock and Pop to subtle new heights. Recalling ELO, Queen and Yes, this is a carefully crafted record packed with sing-along hits and memorable melodies. Deeper and more ambitious than its predecessor, Join With Us, is an album where jaunty boogie woogie pianos give way to rollicking metal guitar solos; where harmony-soaked MOR choruses swerve into duels between harpsichords and string quartets; and where there's absolutely no shame in unleashing a monster prog finale 'The Greatest Show On Earth'. Features the single 'I Thought It Was Over'. 12 tracks. Island Records.2008.from:amazon.com
Given their niche appeal, The Feeling could not have chosen a better album title. The band continues to draw in a cult following, with those on the outside still perplexed by those on the inside and their love of the band's ELO/Wings/Elton John '70s-stylings. But it seems every generation has to have such a band: Anyone remember Jellyfish? It's common sense then that those sucked in by the band's debut, the insanely successful Twelve Stops And Home, will be drawn into the follow-up too. Join With Us is a lavish departure from its predecessor but the basic elements of fun, predictable and contagious pop remain the same.
The finest aspect of Join With Us is its ambition. Songs such as Turn It Up, Without You – complete with orchestral accompaniment - and Loneliness are free-roaming pop-rock efforts. Lead single I Thought It Was Over is another good example of the group’s lack of fear. A love story set around the fall of the Berlin Wall (yes, really), it changes pace, tack and melody regularly and successfully. It's clear that the band have tinkered with every instrument on offer and this will ultimately make or break the record's mass appeal. Having said all this it's then ironic that it is the most straightforward track, the ballad, Spare Me, that is the most palatable.
Yet, there’s a fine line between being intrigued and being baffled, and it's one that The Feeling tread clumsily on throughout. Take the use of a baby voice to close I Did It For Everyone, the frankly mental saxophone solo on Won't Go Away or the jaunty beat that takes you through the title track. All of these elements conjure an elaborate yet silly pop album that can be more trying than rewarding.
Worse still, despite some heavy subject matter, there is a lack of genuine feeling that makes a mockery of the London band's moniker. Predictable couplets frustrate and Dan Gillespie Sells' too-often light vocals belittle the huge effort put into production.
Finely wrought, then, yet instantly forgettable.
Help:A Charity Project For The Children Of Bosnia

Conceived as a charity for orphans of the Bosnian war, every song on Help was recorded on one day and released a week later. The rapid turnaround was inspired by John Lennon's belief that "records should be like newspapers," a theory he brought to life with "Instant Karma," a single recorded on a Monday and released the following Saturday. Eighteen artists were recruited to record their contribution on Sunday, September 3, 1995, with each song running no longer than three minutes and 45 seconds. The day commenced with Noel Gallagher recording a slow, reflective version of "Fade Away" with Johnny Depp on guitar. It ended with Gallagher joining Paul Weller and Paul McCartney for a take on the Beatles' "Come Together," bringing together three generations of British pop royalty. In between those two contributions came 18 other songs -- two more than expected, since Sinead O'Connor and the K Foundation (formerly the KLF) turned in tracks unannounced at the last minute. Given the rapid nature of the project, it isn't surprising that some songs on Help are slightly below par. What is surprising is how many songs are very good, even bordering on excellent. Radiohead's "Lucky" equals the best on their fine 1995 album, The Bends (it would later be a highlight on OK Computer), The Boo Radleys turn in a first-rate track and Suede's cover of Elvis Costello's "Shipbuilding" is moving. Blur, appearing under their original name Seymour, contribute a kitschy instrumentals, which will probably baffle anyone but dedicated fans. "Come Together" doesn't quite live up to expectations, yet it's charming, much like Help itself. It may have its faults, but it is one of the best, most consistent charity albums ever recorded.
